August 21, 2020

So I'm not going to lie, we didn't get up super early for Animal Kingdom. It was definitely still in the AM, but we weren't going to make rope drop or anything. I was pleasantly surprised to find that we hopped on a bus right away. It was kind of weird having the spacers all around, but we felt very safe.

Once through the gates, we had to stop to get those Tree of Life photopass pictures. We didn't actually have annual passes on this trip, since they had expired in February, but since my kids still have passes, I was still able to download the pictures, which I really appreciated being that we can both get in the picture then.

As soon as we got our pictures taken, we headed toward Pandora to try to get Flight of Passage under our belts. This was exciting for us because we have never not had fastpass, so we have not experienced the regular queue for this. The line wasn't super long, even though it looked long with the social distancing guidelines.

We really love to take advantage of photopass. It is such a great service!

Who doesn't love some Disney merchandise? They had such cute stuff!

After shopping, we decided to visit the Crustaceous period and ride one of my faves, Dinosaur, because I've heard everything is better with dinosaurs.

I'd like to say that I'm sad Primeval
Whirl is closed, but I'm not that sad.

After a quick pit stop to the restrooms, we were ready for more photopass fun!

We opted to skip Expedition Everest and decided instead on Kilimanjaro Safari.

There is such beauty to be found at Animal Kingdom!!

I don't know if you have noticed, but it is pretty late in the afternoon now, and we have not eaten yet. So we decided to see if we could check in early to our reservations at Yak and Yeti.

That totally hit the spot! We were done for the day, but we stopped to take a few more photopass pictures on our way out.

Once back at Pop Century, we decided a late night cupcake would hit the spot before we rested up for the fun tomorrow will bring.
