Today was the sad day when we had to leave the Grand Floridian. I said goodbye to the beautiful room and grand grounds with a little sadness, but I was content knowing that we were going to continue our adventure at one of the family's favorite resorts, the Beach Club Resort. Lexy and Sam absolutely love this one for location and theming, and I do too. It is a beautiful resort with the absolute best location on property! (Not to mention the best pool on property)
We took a Minnie van to take us from the Grand Floridian to the Beach Club. We were kind of hoping in a little way that our room might be ready when we checked in, but it was not. Oh, well. Sometimes you get lucky like we did earlier this week, and sometimes you just don't.
We thought we would take a stroll through the International Gateway since we did have fastpasses for Test Track in the afternoon. I love using this entrance to Epcot. Even though it was more congested with the construction being finalized for the Skyliner, it is still a big upgrade from the Future World entrance in my opinion. I also love seeing the countries as I enter.
We were feeling a little hungry, so we decided on a family favorite, La Cantina de San Angel in the Mexico Pavilion. I'm not going to say no to a margarita, and the kids love the food here.
It was early, so it wasn't very crowded which we love. We were able to get inside where we were cooled by the air conditioning. It beats eating outside in the Florida summer heat!
After our bellies were full, we walked across the walkway to ride the Gran Fiesta Tour.
This is always a relaxing place to beat the heat that is never TOO crowded. We love to see our friends the Three Cabelleros.
After riding, it was time for our Test Track fastpass. We started walking toward Future World.
Yeah, that wind really picks up outside. Lots of hair issues on this one!
I was still feeling pretty hopeful at this time that our room would be ready relatively soon. It was going on 2 pm, and I was sure at any minute we would be getting a text saying our room number. With that thought in mind, we started heading back to World Showcase to head out of the park and back to the Beach Club. Once there, still no text, so we went to the Marketplace to get our refillable mugs and possible a snack to hold us over until we could get ready for dinner.
Still no text, so we sat on a bench and waited while enjoying our snack.
Finally, after what seemed like forever, our room was ready. We had a two bedroom at the Beach Club Villas. They are not as large as the Villas at the Grand Floridian, but they are still beautiful.
We were on the first floor right off the entryway. It was super convenient. No waiting for an elevator, and no long walks down hallways (unless I was looking for ice, that is). It means no true balcony, but our tiny patio was nice with lots of greenery and with a tiny view of the quiet pool through the bushes and trees.
Now that we were settled in our room, it was time to get ourselves ready for dinner. We were eating in Epcot (of course) at Teppan Edo. As soon as we were ready, we went back through the International Gateway and started walking toward the Japan pavilion. Along the way we stopped for some photo opportunities.
Our table wasn't quite ready since we were a bit early, so more photo opportunities. It is worth the wait.
We have been eating her every single trip, both family trips and couple trips, but we have never been put in this tiny back room like we were this time. It was a little strange because usually we can count on a loud boisterous interaction and lots of tables and commotion. It was pretty quiet in our back room with only our family. I was thinking that this may be a training room for new chefs. It was still delicious, and I loved my martini!
We were full, but we did manage to take a few more pictures before we headed out and back to our room.
I do really love the walk back after dinner when staying at the Beach Club, it is so peaceful and inviting!
And the resort itself is beautiful!
When you are at the Beach Club Villas, the best way to end the day is with a dip in the pool (or ice cream, take your pick!)
