July 9, 2019

What I love most about staying at the Grand Floridian is the monorail service to the Magic Kingdom. When we stay here, we mainly hang out at the resort and visit the Magic Kingdom, because let's face it when you are staying somewhere so wonderful you want to be able to enjoy it. Magic Kingdom here we come. We have fastpasses for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

I don't know what is wrong with me, but I am the biggest fan of the burgers at Cosmic Rays (or really just the burgers anywhere on Disney property if I'm being honest). So of course for lunch, I wanted to stop there to get a beloved burger.

Of course what birthday trip would be complete without a visit to see the mouse himself in his special birthday suit? We grabbed fastpasses to meet Mickey as well.

We like to get our fastpasses out of the way in the morning so that we can go back to the resort to cool off mid-day. We had one more fastpass left before we were going to head on back. On our way, we had to take some photo opportunities at the castle and the purple wall.

I bet you can guess where our fastpasses were? Yep, Space Mountain!

I don't know why this last picture always tickles me every ride. I guess it's because I'm a weirdo and I really like booths and green cocktails...

Time for a few treats before taking the monorail back to the Grand Floridian.

The other kidlets stayed to get their own treats, so lucky Lainey was the only one who got to have a special "mom and dad" photopass time in the lobby. Guess who's our new favorite?

We didn't get the memo that we were supposed to make silly faces. Oh, well. We cooled off with some pool time. Roddy and Bella got themselves a ball to play with from some lovely cast members.

Another thing I love about staying at the Grand Floridian is the proximity to the Polynesian. It is a nice leisurely stroll along the beach to get to our family favorite 'Ohana. We had dinner reservations there tonight, and we could not wait for the deliciousness. After our pool time, we got ourselves ready and began our stroll.

I couldn't wait to get us checked in. Luckily we didn't have a very long wait to get seated.

With a party of seven, it can sometimes be difficult for seating purposes. We have had nice window tables before. This time we were kind of hidden in the dark near the bar, but we didn't care where we sat while we ate. It was just rough for getting good pictures of our adventure.

How could I go to 'Ohana and not get a Lapu Lapu? They are so tasty! And who doesn't love a cocktail served in a pineapple?

No, Roddy did not get one! He just got to try a sip of mine.

Ugh, getting full! No more meat for me!

Now that we are completely full, a walk back to our room sounds like just the thing! I think that it's easy to see why this resort is my favorite!

I absolutely loved taking my kids to Disney World when they were babies. There is nothing more magical than to see the joy on their little faces. But I must admit, there are some amazing benefits to bringing your adult/teenage kids as well. Case in point, obligatory fireball family shot.

We went our separate ways after our one shot. Sam, Lainey, and I headed to Disney Springs so that she could visit the Coke store. Everyone else went to Hollywood Studios for some fun.

What a perfect day? Can it get any better?
